For too long, church culture has favored the spotless scrub. We’ve elevated perfection over GRACE. We’ve treated redemption like a quiet footnote in a testimony instead of the blazing, messy fire of resurrection power.

When pulpits only present sanitized versions of faith, where people magically go from sin to Sunday school without any of the grit in between, we inadvertently build walls. We tell the hurting, the addicted, and the marginalized: "You can belong here only if you clean yourself up first."

And friend? That is the exact opposite of the Gospel.

Jesus didn’t wait for us to get our act together. He met us right in the stinking, suffocating muck of our addictions, our poor choices, and our darkest nights. He walked into our tombs while we were still dead in our trespasses.

Years ago, when I was drowning in the heavy, suffocating fog of addiction and personal ruin, I couldn't fathom a future where I wasn't defined by my worst mistakes.
